    The election has to be held before late 2029.

    He's got 4 more years. If he fails, labour has a massive majority and can select a new prime minister.

    This isn't meant to invalidate criticism but there isn't a strong equivalent to the 1922 backbench committee and in any event, labour has an unassailable majority. So Starmer can basically continue to muddle through for a considerable period of time.
