I heard them more likened to the telecoms. Mobile data usage is through the roof, telecom companies have not made much of the money. That goes to the apps, more than the OS. Mobile OS dominance only gets you easy distribution of your apps, the OS doesn't make money. I suspect Anthropic will be fine as a token provider, if they can keep their models and apps better than the rest. I don't think their apps are the best, but they are better than the other options for business users.
